Two days in Seattle
 

We will be traveling from Vancouver to Victoria to Seattle and then home to NY. In five days we thought we'd spend two days in Victoria and two in Seattle. We will already have spent a week in Vancouver.

Looking for best transportation from Victoria to Seattle.
From Seattle to the Seattle airport?
Reasonable place to stay in Seattle so we can do the city with public transportation?
Any great art - interested in outsider art and contemporary and traditional?

I like to stay in Lake Union, which is really close to Seattle Center and downtown Seattle. But you can take the Seattle Streetcar from there into downtown. Potentially, you could do without a car - depends what you really want to do. Seattle is a pretty walkable city. You can take light rail from downtown Seattle to Seatac airport.

A fun thing to do is to take a ferry from Seattle over to Bainbridge Island, though you may have already had your fill of ferry rides if you wind up taking one from Victoria...

If you like rock music, the Experience Music Project museum is located at Seattle Center; it's sort of a northwest equivalent of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (without inductees), but with a bias toward Northwest rock music - the most well-known of which are Jimmy Hendrix and Nirvana. Nice museum. There's a science fiction museum adjacent to it (I've not been there).

As far as places to stay, we like "Sixth Avenue Inn." Is is very reasonable, the staff is nice and it is clean. Do not eat at their restaurant, it is not good and there are so many other delicious choices around the city. It is close to the Experience Music Project and walking distance from Pikes Market or you can take the public transportation. The staff is very helpful when you need directions or suggestions. If you want a suggestion of a great place to eat I highly recommend "Wild Ginger." We walked there as well. One more thing, we really enjoyed the little coffee/breakfast place called "Cafe Bee" close to the music project/space needle area. Have fun!

The Victoria Clipper is the only direct transport from Victoria to Seattle, other than air. It is a passenger only ferry and is quite convenient, going from downtown to downtown.

One way from Victoria to Seattle, i'd take the Vitoria Clipper (ferry)

For hotels: Mayflower Park, the Warwick, Hotel Max, Roosevelt.

You can get to SeaTac airport from downtown using the new Lightrail system for $2.75
