Twentynine Palms

We're considering staying at the Best Western motel in Twentynine Palms, California for a couple of nights. Has anyone stayed there and is the city of Twentynine Palms a good place to stay? Any restaurant recommendataions?

Hi Heather...the Best Western I think you are asking about is a nice place to stay...a pool and patio area, gardens, etc...there's not much to do there...I think people stop there on the way other things such as the Joshua Tree...I remember a steakhouse named Jubilee and a Mexican restaurant called Edchada's...there are also chain restaurants such as Denny's Pizza Hut, Burger King.

Unless you're going hiking in Joshua Tree, I can't come up with any good reasons to stay in 29 Palms. It's a military town in the middle of nowhere.

There's an old hotel called 29 Palms Inn that has pretty good food. Twenty Nine Palms is next to Joshua Tree and near the marine base. It's not in Palms Springs however. Joshua Tree is very interesting but Twenty Nine Palms is not a tourist destination for the town.

The above mentioned 29 Palms Inn is a wonderful place. Having dinner by the pool is a great treat there too. It is worth a trip to 29 Palms just for a stay there. Don't expect a grand resort by any stretch of the imagination. It's more like stepping back in time a few decades.

We used to go to a place called Two Bunch Palms just outside of Twentynine Palms--it was nice then, don't know how it is now.
