TV taping Hollywood short notice
Will be in CA for a couple of days with my 18 year old, he has never been. He has an interest in seeing the taping of a TV show. The kicker is our only dates are 3/26 and 3/27.
Is there any chance we can make this work?
Thanks for any and all suggestions!

I'd immediately try a studio audience website like tvtickets.com or studioaudiences.com, to see what might be taping. Bear in mind that they tape shows all over the LA area, so look carefully both at the show and where it's being done.
Occasionally you will see people giving away tickets on the street (Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica especially) for new shows. But your best bet will be the websites. Good luck!

I did a search on tvtickets.com out of curiosity, and it seems the only thing available on your dates is a pilot with Allyson Hannigan on the 26th. (click on the pilots/specials link). The actress will be recognizable from American Pie and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, so that might be fun.

Sorry for two posts. Also, you could try for Jay Leno. It's too late to write in for tickets, but you could try to get them in person. You have to go to the studio first thing in the morning, line up, get the tickets if you are lucky, then come back WAY early to line up to get in the show. They give out more tix than seats, so even if you get a ticket in the morning, you still have to get there early in the afternoon. Here is some text about what to do. I would double check that they are taping that night.
"Tickets for a specific show are available the day of the show only at the NBC Ticket Box, located at NBC in Burbank, CA. The NBC Ticket Box opens at 8:00 a.m. All available tickets are distributed to the public on a first come, first-served two (2) tickets per person basis."

When we stopped by the Chinese Theatre, we found there were lots of people (actors in costume) handing out "invitations" to the taping of TV shows, whether they were for Conan O'Brien or a pilot. It might not be as exciting as a highly rated sitcom, but at least you'd see a taping.

hi
My sister and I got tickets to see a show being taped last year. We got them at Universal studios but we also saw people at Mann's theatre handing them out. The only thing was we turned up a bit late and nearly got turned away as they had filled the studio! We had to beg to get in, I think the fact that we are Scottish and said we had come from far away to see this great show may have helped our case! So my advice would be to turn up early!!
Hope you get to see something as it was great fun.

If you go to idolonfox.com and try to get tickets for American Idol, you will get an email saying "we have no seats right now, but you can have guaranteed tickets to On Air With Ryan Seacrest instead". So if he knows that show, you might be interested.

I'm a little confused by the taping of a show starring Allyson Hannigan. She is currently in London doing the stage play When Harry Met Sally. It is booking until the end of May. Where did you see that she will be taping a pilot for a new TV show during March?

Hi Patrick...who knows? Maybe she has a few days off? Here's the link to tvtickets.com:
http://www.tvtickets.com/pilots.htm
It's down the page and has a picture of her with a little decription of the show, with a date of 3/26. I also just noticed that this show is directed by David Schwimmer--another good reason to go!
