Tuscon
We are coming down for the White Sox spring training. Can anyone recommend a good hotel nearby and restaurants? Also anything exciting for a non baseball fan? How far is Vegas? Thanks

Vegas is approximately 7.5 hours by car.<BR>If you're bored, go to Phoenix/Scottsdale. Barely an hour away, lots more to do than Tucson.

Tucson has lots to see. I would recommend staying at the Arizona Inn in the middle of town--it has very pretty grounds and allows quick access to most of Tucson. Don't miss the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. It is one of the top ranked wildlife museums in the country. Drive to nearby Saguaro National Monument to see forests of centuries-old cactus. Head to South Fourth Avenue for Mexican Food. Drive to Mount Lemmon for a view of the Tucson Valley from 9,000 feet. Many people like the Biosphere 30 minutes north of Tucson. And if you have kids, Old Tucson Movie Studios is a fun place to spend an afternoon. Bring plenty of sunscreen and enjoy the 70 degree days.

Xavier mission is not to be missed,Sabino Canyon is out of this world,De Grazie's house covered with his artwork. Then you can make a quick day trip down to Nogales.Leave your car in Nogales USA and walk over to Nogales, Mexico-you'll have the experience of a lifetime-leave room in your suitcase to bring back all the great deals you'll find down there!

We had a great trip to Tucson a few years back - take a day trip to Bisbee AZ and tour the old Queen mines - kids and parents loved it. Also, the Pima(?) County fair was going on when we were there - small and friendly, they taught the kids how to rope a steer.
