Turning 21 in Las Vegas
 

My parents are taking me to Las Vegas for my twenty-first birthday. Does anyone know if we have any chance of getting a better room rate or anything because It's my 21st B'day? I figure it can't hurt to ask, right?

It can never hurt to ask, particularly in Vegas.

Depends when you arrive. Friday Night and Saturday I wouldn't think you have much chance. As evceryone is partying in Vegas at the weekend. Take ID, with your DOB, it may help.

My tip would be to reserve your hotel directly and accept the rate offered for a reasonable room at the hotel. when you check in ask them if the rate you got quoted is the best rate available for that night in that room - the prices may have come down further since you booked, if they have they MAY pass the saving onto you, alternatively you could ask "for the price you quoted me can you offer me a better room". If they've gone up, you'll get no-where, but you won't pay more as they'll honour teh earlier rate.

This worked for me at treasure island. The rate had dropped by an average of $10 a night. I asked if I coulds get a better room for the price, they accepted and moved me from the back of the hotel to the front. This was for a stay from Tuesday- Saturday.

Alternatively, drop about $200,000 on the baccarat tables within an hour of arriving and i'm sure you'll get a very nice room free of charge.
The hotel will of course not expect you to leave the baccarat table to ever go to your room for such a generous offer.

Lose the parents, party all day and night. Frequent the clubs and spend the night somewhere new every night. Find an attractive guy or gal with money and go with the flow.

Go home, graduate from college, get a good job, repeat above every year or so prior to having children.

You only go around once.

I say no chance of a lower rate but you may get upgraded to a suite for asking at the desk.

I went to Vegas for my 21st and it was a total blast! I would recommned seeing Chippendale's at the Rio if you want to do a girls' night out. I know it sounds cheesy, but you would be surprised how much fun it is...The guys are all HOT...also, the young singles scene in Vegas is very happening!
