Turnagain Pass float trip

I am looking for a rafting trip near Girdwood that is scenic, fun and suitable for a 10 year old. We are considering the Turnagain Pass float trip - does anyone have experience with this?

As long as it's not the Six-Mile ... I know one company does a non-whitewater float in the area that says 6-and-under.

oops ... and over.

I agree six-mile is no place for kids - they wouldn't be allowed anyway. Try calling one of the raft companies to see what they have. You might consider a kayak trip out of Whittier - that is fun for kids and fairly safe if you know what you are doing.

Thank you - it is not the six-mile but puts in at a similar location (which looks lovely). I am having a hard time finding something with a little pep (Class I-II rapids) but manageable and safe . . . and this one is described as "moving quickly" but no whitewater. Planning to kayak out of Homer later in the trip though had a hard time choosing between Whittier and Homer.

If you can get to Cooper Landing:

Just a note that most rafting trips are glacier temperature waters. SO dress the kids in layers if your gonna go get wet on the rivers.
