Get the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. It will tell you everything you need to know about beaches on Kauai.

Ultimate Kauai Guidebook is the best out there. Get to all snorkeling sites EARLY. The snorkeling will be better, and you will beat the crowds.

We paid the $5 to the family who lives directly across the road from Tunnels for all day parking. If this is still available, their teenager will be sitting under an umbrella near their driveway. Nice people, worth it to park off the road in their pasture. Tunnels was the best snorkeling for me last June- I was thrilled to see turtles!

Ultimate Kauai Guidebook helped us find Tunnels quite easily. Most beaches on the North shore are located by "highway" marker and when in doubt just look for the cluster of cars. Tunnels is a short walk in from the road and definitely worth going. A tip when travelling to the North shore..we learned after a few days to take our travel umbrellas along with all beach equipment. When the showers came(and they do) we'd simply pop up the umbrellas and sit out the downpour which was almost always quite short lived.

Pam is correct
"just look for the cluster of cars"
Whe we went there this place was like a zoo. Too many people. Too crowded. People smoke at your face. No fun at all. Too many people bought the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook. Whatever place is mentioned in it is already overrun during a high season.

I amnot certain about high season on Kauai. We were there mid-april and tunnels was not crowded.
