Tulsa, OK luxury hotels
 

I will be passing through Tulsa OK this summer on a trip across the country, and am wondering if anyone has any ideas on any luxurious hotels in the city. Most of my nights will be spent in small motels, and I'm looking for a relaxing break from that.

I live in Oklahoma, yet I travel the world. I wish I could give you a big list of luxury hotels, but Tulsa's selection is quite limited. The best hotel that could be considered even close to "luxury" is the Doubletree. It is located in an area that makes it easy to access almost anywhere in Tulsa, assuming you will have a car. The restaurant at the Doubletree, The Warren Duck Club, is highly acclaimed and quite elegant. Outside of Tulsa is a nice B&B called Jarrett Farms. I've not been there, but several of my friends have and they have raived about it.
If you're into shopping, Tulsa has two really nice areas. One is your typical mall, Woodland Hills Mall. The other is quite unique, Utica Square. It's not a mall, but rather a very high-end shopping area/center... Saks Fifth Avenue, etc.
If you like museums, the Philbrook museum and the Gilcrease museums are great. It will shock you to find this quality of museums in the middle of Oklahoma!

Hi, Dale! Another very elegant hotel in Tulsa is the Adam's Mark which is not far from the Doubletree Downtown which, by the way, is a very, very elegant hotel. I also recommend the Warren Duck Club which is part of the Warren Place Doubletree in southeast Tulsa. Another premiere museum in Tulsa that you must see in addition to Gilcrease is Philbrook. It is at about 27th or 28th & Peoria. It is a must see. Have a great trip. Victoria

The Adam's Mark gets my vote, too.

Tulsa is one hurtin' town when it comes to 'luxury' hotels. Adam's Mark and Doubletree are tops in town, but they're 6's on a scale of 1-10 nationally.<BR>But the service is friendly.<BR>People are very nice.

You'll like Tulsa, even if its most luxurious hotels don't quite measure up to, say, NYC. We live equidistant to Tulsa, Wichita, and Kansas City - and always prefer going to Tulsa for our "big city" getaways. The city is laid out well, easy to get around, traffic tolerable (just stay off 71st on Saturdays.....) friendly midwestern hospitality, and plenty to see and do. Ditto recommendations for Adam's Mark or Doubletree (if you like the idea of staying downtown), or the Doubletree Warren Place if you prefer not to be in the middle of downtown.....

Any of the choices mentioned so far are fine, but there is also the Hotel Ambassador on the edge of downtown. It is a luxury boutique hotel with 55 rooms and a wonderful restaurant, The Chalkboard. It is also located close to the shops, bars and restaurants on Cherry Street. Web site is www.hotelambassador-tulsa.com. I have stayed there, and both accomodations and service are outstanding. well in case anyone stumbles upon this thread in 2003, there are a couple new nice hotels in Tulsa. There is the brand new Renaissance in southeast Tulsa near Woodland Hills Mall as well as a newly renovated historic downtown hotel called I think the Mayo Hotel. Hope it helps somebody out there.
