SF Airport Hotels: Westin vs. Sheraton Gateway

Will be needing a hotel in the SFO area. Any feedback on the Westin or Sheraton hotels? After a search I noticed most comments on the Westin hotel are pretty old. Has anyone stayed there recently? How was the noise-level? Was the staff attentive? Were the beds comfortable/rooms clean? Would appreciate any comments!

I haven't stayed at the Westin or Sheraton, but I have stayed at the Marriott - San Fran Airport on Old Bayshore Highway. The hotel has free shuttle service to the terminals every 30 minutes. I like the location because it sits right on the bay but its' across from the airport so it's quiet. There is a nice walking/jogging trail that runs along the length of the bay right outside the hotel. The rooms are quiet. I usually stay on the Concierge level, so I enjoy the lounge was has great continental breakfast and snaks at nite. There is an indoor pool/whirlpool but I never used it - my travle is business. There are several restaurants just off the walking trail that are easy to walk to. I also appreciated Starbucks in the lounge and Hertz rental pick up and return on the property.

The Westin is very nice. I highly recommend it. Last time I stayed it had just been renovated.

Don't know the Sheraton.

Thanks for the replies. The Marriott sounds great, but I wanted to stay within the Starwood group. I will try the Westin for availability. Gracias Dan!

The SFO Westin is not as great as other Westins.

The Sheraton, on the other hand, is a nice, quiet, clean hotel.

I like the Hyatt at SFO - and the Marriott is good too!

Thank you, I will also try the Sheraton. And if there are no openings then I will try Hyatt or Marriott.
