Tucson with a toddler

Hello,

We will be making our first trip to Tucson in March with a 2+ year old. We are planning on taking in a spring training baseball game, but are looking for other kid friendly suggestions regarding activities and places to eat. Any suggestions are welcome!

I would go to the Reid Park zoo. It's great for toddlers.

For good food and fun in a casual atmosphere I recommend Little Anthony's 50's style restaurant and Hidden Valley Inn. Little Anthony's is child friendly and there's alot going on to keep a toddler entertained. The menu includes good burgers, fries, shakes, pizza, etc. Hidden Valley Inn has a huge display of handcarved miniatures that runs through the restaurant which depicts life in the old west. The menu includes ribs, steaks, chops, chicken, burgers, etc. Also child friendly and I think it can be entertaining to a child. They are not fine dining experiences, but they are good and fun.

I second Little Anthony's, also Chuck E Cheese is always a popular choice. As far as activities, it depends are the temperment of your child. There is a great childrens mueseum, Old Tucson (a western style theme park), or Sabino Canyon. You should be able to get info on any of these places on the internet.

As a native of Tucson (tho now in Sonoma) I can no imagine a trip there without a visit to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. It's a desert "zoo" of sorts all kinds of native animals and exhibits that are fun for all ages. The exhibits are designed with nearly invisible (but very safe) enclosures no cages-there is also a cave and an underground water otter exhibit. Great website! Have fun!
