Tucson - March
 

We have 5 days in Tucson in March (husband's company trip.) What are some good pursuits during the day?

Sabino Canyon, Mount Lemon, Museum of the Desert, Tubac, St. Xavier Mission, Casino del Sol,

Some good ideas above, but I'd leave the casinos for evening when the daytime weather is as nice as it can be in March.

If you enjoy gardening, the Tucson Botanical Garden is very nice and has a special butterfly exhibit on now. Tohono Chul park might also interest you.

And of course baseball--White Sox or Diamondbacks at Tucson Electric Park, Rockies at Hi Corbett Field. Tickets in the teens, and a chance to see big leaguers in a small size park.

For desert landscape and cacti, Saguaro Natl Park just east of Tucson. If you are into aviation, the Pima Air Museum in Tucson is very good. If you like history, Tombstone is about an hour's drive.

Sabino Canyon, the Desert Museum, St Xavier Mission, and ballgames are all good suggestions for local activities. Tubac is away from Tucson but fun for unique shopping and fun art galleries. Titan Missle on Duval Mine Road in Green Valley is often highly praised for being a worthwhile stop. It is especially good if you like (or remember)history from the 60's. It is an hour tour. The Mexican border and Nogales is a little over an hour from Tucson so that also is an option, but passports are needed to return as of 1/1/08. Suggestions could be more appropriate if you had specific activities you enjoy doing. U of A offers many museums and exhibits also if you are into the arts. The weather will be one of the best features in March. How far are you willing to travel in the area as well as if you would like indoor or outdoor activities will give you more specific pursuits.

If either of you have an interest in old western movies, make sure you visit Old Tucson which was built in 1939 as a movie set...and has been used in dozens of westerns since then.
