tucson in october. what should we see or do?
We are celebrating our 1st anniversary at loews ventana canyon. We are interested in some sight seeing in the area. what are some cool places to see,and are there any restaurants recommended?
|
Don't miss the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum; take a hike through the Saguaro National Monument nearby, keeping an eye out for petroglyphs; check out the Mission San Xavier del Bac, also known as the White Dove of the Desert. Happy Trails!

Thanks NewbE,
For the info. Are there any caves we should see and what golf courses would you recommend? |
My husband had a business trip to the Loews Ventana and it was wonderful.
If you get a chance, I'd definitely visit Sedona. Happy Anniversary! |
you should definitely check out MikeP's blog for ideas in Tucson:

Thanks egret,
How far is sedona? |
If Mike checks in I have a question for him
"how was your trip to Bermuda and where is your trip report?" |
Sedona is pretty far from Tucson--4 hours, maybe 3, depending on what part of Tucson you start from.
I'm not a golfer, so I can't help you there, suzy. As for caves, Kartchner Caverns are about an hour south of Tucson: http://kartchnercaverns.com/ MikeP really is the SME on Tucson here, check out his blog and read his other posts on this site. |
We really liked hiking on the Sabino Canyon Trail. Super-easy, and you can even take a tram most of the way up and then walk down.
|
I second everything that NewbE suggested and Balto's Sabino Canyon recommendation. MikeP's blog is a great resource. The desert is beautiful! Have a great trip!

Bring binoculars. The birds are GREAT.
