Tucson help

Hi,
My husband and I (very late thirties)will be spending a few days in Tucson mid October. Surprisingly, a lot of hotels are already booked ( like the Loews, Hilton El Conquistador, etc.) However, I got a Sonoran Suite at the Omni Tucson for $169 a night through quikbook. Has anyone stayed there lately? Is it attractive? I am looking for a southwestern/desert decor and feel. Would I be better off in a Bed and breakfast? Any suggestions? The ones I found online looked a little weird ( such as queen anne style stuff which I can get here on the east coast.) Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Kirsten

We stayed there a few weeks ago. (Priceline). The Omni had more of the feel of a Golf Resort than the other Resorts you mentioned. We have stayed stayed at some of the others (El Conquistador, la Paloma), and while they have golf courses on their property, they didn't feel like GOlf was their primary purpose. I think, because the Omni is a smaller property and the Golf Course is an old established course it has a more central theme. That said, the resort was nice; very nice spa facilities. The staff throughout the hotel was extemely professional and very guest oriented. There are two restaurnats; one upscale and the other a pub atmosphere for both the hotel guests and golfers. Food was good at both.
Compared to the other resorts, the hotel has less of a southwestern feel because of the presence of the golf course which is an eastern style course with lots of grass and trees. The rooms were very nice, updated and felt southwestern. Hope this helps.
I suppose you already checked out the new Marriott at Star Pass? Or Westward Look?
I don't know their pricing, but Tanque Verde Guest Ranch on the east side of Tucson certainly has a western feel.
Enjoy your stay

For a southwest ambience try the Hacienda del Sol or Westward Look.

Just thought of another possibility the Arizona Inn.

Hi,
Thanks for all your help. Tanque Verde guest ranch is out of my budget for this week. Arizona Inn looks nice, but not western. I will look at Westward Look more closely. Also, has anyone heard about or stayed at the Sun Catcher B and B?
