Tucson expertise

I am trying to decide between the Sheraton El Conquistador and the Westward Look Resort in Tucson. Can anyone tell me anything about these resorts? Has anyone stayed there or know someone who has? Our family is split down the middle. Can you help?

I haven't stayed at either, but this may help a little. Friends have stayed at the El Conquistador, liked it, and gone back a second time. So at least it's likely there's no reason to avoid the EC.

Thanks! That answer does have some logic to it!

We stayed at the El Conquistador last April; just before Easter (got a super rate via www.placestostay.com, 99.00). What can I say: My kids liked the pool; they took a sunset horseback ride and were just teh two of them plus guide; we loved our hike in Catalina State Park close by; had dinner at the barbeque place (huge portions but not terribly great). The rooms were nice not incredible, but had a sleeper sofa and Kind bed. What else would you like to know? What I really can recommend is the Skywatcher's Inn in Southern Arizona. Great place! We also stayed in Bisbee for two nights.

My family (w/ sons 10 and 15) stayed at Western Look last year between Christmas and New Years. Great rooms in a mini-suite configuation with sitting area. (We had connecting rooms.) Very pleasant and low key. Great tennis facilities. Several nice pools. Mountain bikes to rent. Good location in the northern suburbs. Free internet on two PCs off the lobby!
