TSA Security Question

Does anyone know if you can go through security using a boarding pass with a gate at another terminal?

For example: I will be flying on Delta out of Terminal B at Newark. After dropping my checked luggage there, I'd like to take the monorail to Terminal C (United) to meet a friend at the United Club. Will they allow me to go through security if my gate isn't at that terminal?

Yes, I do realize that I will also have to go through security when I return to Terminal B to get to my gate.

Seems that a lot of people would go to terminals where they have club access.

At the Houston Airport, where all terminals are connected by a monorail inside security, you can enter through any terminal regardless of where your flight departs.

At the Columbus, Ohio airport where the concourses do not connect, you can only enter the concourse for your departing flight.

Yes you can do that. They might ask you why you're going to another terminal, but you have a legitimate reason.

I have been denied in the past when going to meet a friend at the club. I think it's up to the TSA agent at the gate.

I've only flown through EWR once but my recollection is you won't be able to do it but to be sure, I would check the airport website, seems like I have seen information on that very issue
