You could try for standby once you arrive in NYC.

thanks for that - will look into it!! might even email and ask why there is only USA and canadian residents allowed

I believe tickets are sent in the mail. I'll bet they don't want to mail tickets further away than Canada.

Do you have a firm hotel yet? You could possibly put in the address of your hotel and have the hotel hold the tickets for you until you arrive.

Has anyone been to a taping of the Colbert Report. We have ticket confirmation which tells us to be there by 5:15p.m. Is that accurate or should we be there earlier?

dred07--I'd be there early; I went about 2 years ago and my group was at the "cut-off" mark. They give more tickets out than they have room for. We were then given "VIP" passes for a future show, which we then had to reschedule. It was several weeks later; being VIP just meant that we didn't have to get there early; our seats were confirmed.

I wish I could remember what time we were there the first time. I remember waiting for at least 90 minutes. I don't know if it's changed. I think I was out there around 4 I would guess. I'd do some google searches for the show; might find other experiences. I would definitely get there earlier than 5:15; just not worth the risk!

For a 5:15pm time for The Daily Show, we arrived at 3:30pm and were 20th in line. My companion is a huge fan and did not want to miss the cut off.

what about David Letterman show - is that harder to get tix for?
id love to try for 'The View' or 'Martha Stewart' but hubby is so not into that idea haha
