Tru in Chicago; how much $?

Can anyone give me an idea of what dinner (with wine) at Tru in Chicago will cost? It's often compared with Charlie Trotters which is at least $400/couple with wine.

I don't mind spending the big bucks if I leave having had an outstanding dining experience. Can anyone share their feedback?

I think you are on target with the price. Our friends here in NYC are total foodies and they have 3 restaurants that they visit at least 4 times per year in Chicago. Their favorites are, in this order: Trio, Tru, and Charlie Trotters. Hope this helps a bit.

For two of us we spent $ 515.00 with a bottle of wine and a very generous tip. We still, 9 months later, talk about this outstanding dining experience.

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking forward to dining at Tru.

$2200 for our party of 7, a year or so ago. For example, chef's tasting menu was $135 vs $75-$105 at Everest, Ambria, etc. I personally did not think it was "worth it," and also did not appreciate the fact that not only must men wear jackets, they cannot slip them off if hot! A waiter truly did make one of our party put his jacket back on, which I have never experienced elsewhere.

jende, we had a very good dinner at Everest but it doesn't come close to an outstanding dining experience TRU delivered. It was worthy to us!! It is an exceptional dining with fabulous food and incomparable waiting staff.
