Where to stay when visiting Grand Canyon?
Might take the kids there over spring break. Maybe go up a night and stay. What hotels are there and do you recommend them? How about restaurants? Thanks.

We're going in Sept and will stay at the Kachine Lodge. Based on everyone's advice here, try to stay close to the rim, especially if you want to see the sunrise. For the spring break, reserve now!
Hope this helps

This website will help you. http://www.thecanyon.com/
We stay in Flagstaff at the Days Inn route 66. It is clean and inexpensive. Also, they have lots of places to eat and choose from and a night life.
Here is another good website for the park itself http://www.nps.gov/grca/
and a great website for the El Tovar and other motels IN the park.

This is the website to check out the lodging IN the park and make reservations. They do not charge a fee to make the reservation. You can see pictures of the different lodging. I would call their toll free number (888.297.2757) soon if you want to get in during spring break. They usually have more availabilty through the telephone than what you see online. Keep calling back, sometimes there are cancellations.

We stayed at Kachina Lodge in the GC last June. Don't remember the room number but I don't know how the view could have been any better. THere were nine deer out in the yard at sunrise--it was awesome.
