Tropical Storm Daniel?

I'm leaving tomorrow for Kauai and just learned that Tropical Storm Daniel is heading towards Hawaii and will probably hit this weekend. http://www.honoluluadvertiser.com/ap...WS12/607250342

I know that some of you fodorites are lucky enought to live in HI...any tips for a land-locked Coloradan who has never been through a tropical storm? Should we get a disaster kit, or will our condo probably have one? What are the local news agencies saying? Is it likely that we would have to evacuate? Sorry if these questions all seem a little paranoid, I really have no idea what to expect. Thanks!

No worries, its strength has depleted in the last 12 hours. Its first stop will be the Big Island anyway....so if you experience any of it, it will just be some rain.....regular rain.

Thanks Melissa! I can relax now and go back to packing :) I think my imagination got away from me as I was imagining spending my amazing Hawaiian vacation at an evacuation center in elementary school gym.
