trip to Savannah late February

We are thinking of a trip to Savannah and the area in our RV, middle to late February. What is the weather like then and when are the flowers in bloom? Patf

The avg temp in Savannah is 50 degrees, I dont think flowers, Azeleas will be in bloom that early. Still Savannah is a nice place to visit, shouldnt have many crowds/tourists that time of year.

It really depends on the weather as to whether or not the azaleas are blooming. Two years ago they were in full bloom by the beginning of February.

You should have very nice weather in February unless a freak cold snap hits. Upper 60s daytime highs.

Ditto on the other posts. I'm from Augusta (line in New England now) and the azaleas are usually in full bloom for the time of the Masters Golf Tournament which is in April. So usually sometime around mid March to the end of March they start to bloom. Unless of course of the freakish weather. Have you picked an RV park to stay at? If so, where at. I run an outdoors website so it kind of interests me somewhat.

Hi Patf,
I was just in Savannah last week and wanted to recommend the restaurant "Lady and Sons" to you (even though that's not what you asked about). The food is fabulous--Southern-style home-cooking. Get the buffet so you can try a bit of everything. Also, be sure to call ahead for reservations so that you can actually get in when you want to rather than waiting for a long time. Savannah is a great place to visit and was beautiful last week so I can just imagine what it must be like when everything is in bloom.

Spend a day or so in Savannah and then go to Charleston--more to do and see and MUCH better food.
