Trip to Savannah and Charleston

We are spending a week golfing the Trent Jones golf courses ending in Atlanta. We are going to visit Charleston then Savannah. How long would you recommend for both. Do you recommend staying in Beaufort for a night?

Any tips for hotels and restaurants in both places.

Thanks for any and all advice

Chris

2 savannah and 3 charleston. Spend some time in Beaufort and a night if you please.
There are probably just under2000 threads on charleston and savannah on here (maybe just this year!).

I wrote a trip report on a week in Charleston and Savannah. It;s a couple of years old but might still apply for what to see and perhaps where to eat. Click on my name to find it.

BTW, here's a tip on where NOT to stay in Savannah: The Olde Savannah Inn. If you really want all the details, ask and I'll oblige.

Three or four days in the Charleston area. Mt. Pleasant has a lot of good hotels with free parking, and it is a short drive into Charleston.

Magnolia, Hanks, SNOB and Leon's are restaurants we are familiar with. Kaminsky's for dessert.

I think that the Hunley and Francis Biedler Forest are worth seeing.

Three nights in or around Savannah. In Savannah itself, we stayed at the Mansion on Forsyth Park, but usually we stay in Hilton Head and explore the area.

We enjoyed 700 Drayton Restaurant and Vicks on the River.

Orlando_Vic: We know there is no advertising -- so tell the moderators -- but to post over and over - and twice on the same thread is just getting silly.
