Trip to San Francisco
Hi I am finalizing a trip to San Francisco from Sept 2 to the 9 of September... Looking for great dining... I have made a reservation at Gary Danko, The Rib Room, and The Ritz Carlton. I wondering if there is anything that I just should not miss, maybe brunch with a view? Dim Sum?
|
Go to Sam's in Tiburon (just across the Golden Gate Bridge or by Ferry) on of the days and sit out on the deck to get a great view of the City across the bay.
|
The Rib Room?
|
Gary Danko was great! We also liked Cafe Maritime in the Marina District.
|
Don't miss: Golden Gate Bridge...walk or drive across. Ferry ride on the bay or trip to Alcatraz. They have open air busses that give you a good trip around the city. You can get on and off it you see a place you want to spend more time. Good way to see the area.

If price is no object, try Yank Sing for dim sum -- two locations. Great food, but pricey.

A really fantastic dining view can be had at Green's, a long-established vegetarian restaurant. The food is really delicious, and the meat is not missed. It would be a great place for lunch, with fabulously huge windows adjacent to the Golden Gate Bridge. Not sure if they serve brunch.

Yes, Green's does serve brunch on Sundays.

If Jen is dining at Gary Danko & the Ritz Carlton, I don't think she'll have problems with the prices at Yank Sing. Stu Dudley |
Thanks everyone, especially Stu for all of your wonderful info about the city! I am going to try Yank Sing as well!

I think it is called The House of Prime Rib...
|
The House of Prime Rib was featured on "Check Please - Bay Area". The owner of the "house" said that their objective is to "fill you up until you are almost bursting" (or something like that).
Consider Slanted Door for some "ethnic variety" - which is our "forte" in San Francisco. Stu Dudley |
Brunch at the Top of the Mark is gorgeous with a view.
|
The House of Prime Rib is very popular -- traditional prime rib, with the "fixin's" -- salad, popovers, creamed spinach. It's not great, though, and I personally wouldn't choose it as one of my destination restaurants in San Francisco.
