Congrats on the trip. You'll love the RCMH Christmas Spectacular.

I'm in the minority, but I like the on and off buses. I'm mocked by friends who are locals, but I still do it - if it isn't bitterly cold. You get an overview of the city and a rest for tired feet. Locals will tell you to jump on the subway for a faster trip to a certain locale. I prefer to SEE what's along the way, rather than going underground. If I need to get somewhere fast, then "yes" but the rest of the time the tour bus or a taxi.

YEARS ago we took a Gray Line Christmas lights night tour. After that I had a not-so-good Gray Line experience, but I'd still look for a similar tour. That year WAS cold and it was a great way to see the city all lit up - again when feet were tired.

Be sure to take a carriage ride into Central Park.

Stop at the TKTS booth and pick a show and buy 1/2 price tickets.

Enjoy the city. We're going next week. Can't wait! :-)
