Trip to Cheyenne WY
 

We are planning a trip to Cheyenne for Frontier Days. We will be flying into Denver and are looking for things to do a day or 2 before attending Cheyenne Frontier Days. Any advice on where to stay and things to do prior? We will be staying in Cheyenne for 2 days and then flying back out of Denver. So any advice would be greatly appreciated. It will just be my husband and I. Love the western/cowboy scene and area. Middle age.

Of course, there's plenty to do in the Denver area. If it were my trip, I'd drive the first day to Ft. Collins and spend 1 night there. Good restaurants; historic Old Town. Then, even though Cheyenne is only 45 minutes or so up I-25, I'd suggest a night in Laramie before heading to Cheyenne. It's a beautiful drive up 287 I always thought. Laramie has a nice old west vibe.
