Trip To Anchorage, Alaska

Hi I'm just wondering how much money I should plan on spending for lunch and dinner for 4 weeks. I plan on buying groceries for the most part to save money. However, I can't seem to find much information on how much stuff costs there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Jonathan

Get yourself a Carrs (Safeway) card. Here's the weekly ad.

There is also a Walmart Super Center as well.
With 4 weeks you'll want to explore some of Alaska other than Anchorage.

Hard to generalize, but I'd say maybe 10% - 20% higher than comparable places on the west coast, maybe less. There's no sales tax, however, so the walk-away price won't be terribly different.

So do you actually mean the city of Anchorage because you'll be in the city for 4 weeks; or are you having an AK vacation and won't actually be in/near Anchorage much of the time?

Keep in mind the large grocery stores in places like Soldotna and Anchorage offer cheaper lunch options than restaurants. You can buy salads and prepared sandwiches.
