Thank you for all of your kind wishes :)
You know, I used to live in New Orleans and so I had pralines there, but I have to say that I'm not a huge praline fan! I know...I'm weird!! But everyone else I know LOVES pralines, I personally have just never had much of a sweet tooth unless it involves chocolate LOL, so we did miss them in Savannah. But I did make the most of my dessert at Elizabeth's which was soooo decadent. Some chocolately-mocha thing. Ok...getting hungry just thinking about it!! |
" San Francisco, Seattle & Philly on our list and are *maybe* considering Chicago."
Really depends on what you consider important and how much $$ you have. San Francisco is VERY expensive compared to the other three cities (more expensive than Manhattan I understand). I've heard good things about Seattle. Lived in Philly for four years, loved it, but it and Chicago should have a way different feel than Seattle and San Francisco. Chicago has TONS of snow, none of the other three have snow to a great extent, although all are rainy somewhat. Philly would be the least amount of change from NYC; I'll take Philly over NYC any day as I grew up near NYC and remember it at its worst. Philly is also central to NYC and Washington. |
For March-April 2007 in Savannah, don't miss live concert tickets to several Savannah Music Festival events -- www.savannahmusicfestival.org. Touted as "soulful, southern, and sophisticated," the music varies from classical courtly to zydeco zanny! And, to top it off, don't miss the dotted line to Hollywood at producer Stratton Leopold's ice cream shoppe -- Leopold's (Broughton Steet near Abercorn) in the entertainment district downtown.
