Final thoughts

The two big disappointments on the trip were missing out on the Turquoise Trail and not being able to visit Taos Pueblo. Just means we have to make another trip. Darn! The landscape and views continually wowed us. It is so very different from Michigan. Next time, DD wants to come. She is envious of all the art we got to see.

Biggest purchase of the trip was a wedding present for DS and his finacee [still having trouble saying that]. We found some lovely bronze crosses at Shidoni. Picked one out with a piece of turquoise in the center. Going to be hard keeping it under wraps for another year. Might have to make it a special graduation present for them in December.

Going to NM on Thurs next week. ~~!! Gonna have to be careful while in santa Fe, as one of the best jewelry stores in the world (my opinion) is accross from Loretto's. I lived in NM many years ago, and much of the wonderful Indian rugs, murals, etc., are gone, or so pricy that one cannot consider them. Fortunately, I don't like turquoise much...We will be sitting in the little cafe in Tesque, visiting Los Alamos, and White Rock, and dropping by the cemetary where my baby boy is buried. Yes, much of my heart is buried there. It's a place like no other. Main reason for this trip is to see my dying sister, and attend a memorial for my dearest friend, who died recently. Yet, with all this, it will be a good time, for I was also very happy there once...and the entire reason vibrates with memories for me. Very unique sort of place, like no other on earth.
