Hello. I have a wedding to attend in Montgomery, NY on Saturday September 2nd. I will be starting my trip from Dallas, TX and ending my trip in Oakland, CA. I have several friends and family members that I would love to see as part of this trip, but I need help evaluating the idea and calculating a cost estimate. I would love to know how you would go about this in a most cost effective way:
Dallas, TX (my start point)
Midland, MI
Geneva NY
Montgomery, NY (the wedding)
Long Island, NY
Manhattan, NY
German Town MD
Oakland, CA (my end point)
As long as I make it to the wedding, I really don't care in what order I'd visit people, so feel free to change the order of the above as you see fit. I am happy to fly or take ground transportation. I can leave Dallas starting on August 28. Many thanks in advance and please let me know if you need any additional information to help me out!

Since we live in Midland, Michigan I just wanted to give you a few ideas of things to do while you are there! Be sure to walk over the Tridge on a nice day. Go to a baseball game with the Loons! You will be amazed how nice the stadium is! Also, Dow Gardens is my favorite place in Midland. It's gorgeous any time of year with their waterfall, children's area, small ponds and river.

So starting Aug 28 in TX. Wedding in NY state Sept 2.

How long is the trip total? What date do you need to be in California?

I hope Sonia comes back to answer questions. My suggested route would be: Fly Dallas to BWI - see your friend in Maryland. Drive the rental car up Rt. 15/I-99 and up 414 to get north to Geneva at the north end of Seneca Lake.
Attend the wedding in Montgomery. See your friends in NYC and Long Island City. Can you meet them together somewhere in the NYC area?
Return the car to BWI and fly to Detroit and rent a car to go to Midland Michigan. Return the car to Detroit and fly to Oakland (or San Jose). Try to avoid SFO.
I just noticed that the wedding was last September (2017). I am sorry that no one responded in a timely manner.
