Trip Itinerary Advice Needed - 1wk Yellowstone & Tetons
We've finally booked all our hotels & flights for our first trip to Yellowstone (mid-July) & would LOVE some (always great) Fodor advice on best way to get from place to place, what to do, what to see, where to eat, things to bring, driving times (which roads to take) and/or any additional tips, etc (including any helpful websites or previous threads) - THANK YOU in advance!
About us: moderately active mid-30's couple with 3.5yr old son - enjoy leisurely outdoor activities, widllife, long walks
Itinerary:
Fri - fly into Idaho Falls (3:30pm) - staying in Driggs Motel
Sat - Old Faithful Inn
Sun - Old Faithful Inn
Mon - Colter Bay
Tues - Colter Bay
Wed - Canyon Lodge
Thurs - Canyon Lodge
Fri/Sat - Livingston KOA (family reunion)
Sun - Big Sky Lodge
Mon - fly out from Idaho Falls (3:30)
We want to see the highlights of the area, but mostly just want to have a fun relaxing trip & we're hoping to fit in the bulk of our day to day driving around mid-afternoon when our son naps. Ideas on how to eat healthy in the area would also be appreciated.

We're renting a car for the entire trip & then plan to walk and possibly stroller around when needed (and possible) - although I would also be open to bus/van. Our son can walk 1+ mile in one go, significantly further with breaks & snacks - he's been asking to climb mountains (but I think he doesn't really know what that entails )

Any suggestions for our trip? Would be especially great to get ideas for activities we can do from morning until 1pm and then from 3-night time that would work well for a 3yr old - easy hikes, open spaces to explore, etc.
Also, any suggestions on which roads to take from point to point would be greatly appreciated. Especially from Driggs to OFI and Big Sky to Idaho Falls.
Thank you!
