Trip Florida

Friends,

my cousin sister(from singapore) will be in atlanta for four days and she wants to go to orlando, miami and key west and she wants to take some coach or buses if they are available from atlanta.

Are there any services availbale from atlanta where they pick a person from atlanta and drop you in orlando and then continue to miami and probably key-west?

any help/info would be greatly appreciated.

pls. remember flight/car is not an option we are looking for.

No offense but your cousin needs to stop thinking she is still going to be in Singapore or somewhere else. Teach her the old phrase "when in Rome do as the Romans do." In this case, when in the US do as Americans do. FLY! Busses are simply a bad choice from Atlanta to Orlando, even if they do exist. What is this desire she has to endure such horrible punishment?

This is too far in 4 days if she is trying to get down to Key West and back to Atlanta in that amount of time. Orlando, So. Beach Miami and Key West are all very different from each other and would need at least 2 days each to start to get a feel for them and that doesn't include travel time.

Maybe if we knew what she wanted to see in these Cities us Fodorites could narrow down which would be the most fun for her.

I lived in Atlanta for a decade, robertron, and made the drive to Florida many, many times. Do you have any idea of the distance involved? It takes the better part of a day to reach Orlando. From there, another long haul to Miami, and from Miami to the Keys, again, the better part of a day. And that's DRIVING your own car with minimum stops, at a good speed. Busses make several stops and take forever! Your sister should, as Patrick suggests, do as the Romans do.

thanks guys,I have asked her to book flights from atlanta to orlando to miami and to key west from what you guys said.but i was told that to key west, driving is the only option,is that right?

can she get any buses to have local tours in each city or does she has to take taxi for each and every place?

pls. help

Out of all the cities you have listed, only Key West is viable without a car.

As Patrick suggested, fly. Unfortunately because of the price, Greyhound attracks some of the seedier sides of life.

Atlanta, Orlando, and Miami are all cities where a car is mandatory with the exception of little pockets of tourism.

To go carless in Atlanta, you would have to stay in downtown or midtown. In Orlando you would have to stay on site at Disney or Universal. In Miami you would have to stay in South Beach.
