Tri Rail train to Lauderdale by the Sea

We are from the UK and are staying in a hotel, for a few days, in Lauderdale by the Sea, in October, before a cruise from Fort Lauderdale.
We arrive at Miami airport on a Sunday and am looking to travel to the hotel by rail then taxi ????
It looks like Cypress Creek Station is the closest ???
Is the journey comfortable and safe ???
Any other advice ????

From what I've heard (I am a winter resident of the area) take Uber or a taxi or be prepared to wait....would like more input for myself but have never dared use them..sure it is not dangerous, more concerned with waiting time.

First: you can connect directly from MIA to the Tri-Rail system so there is no need for Uber or any sort of ride service and the only waiting you will be doing is for the next Tri-Rail train north.

I live just south of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. The Cypress Creek station is about 6 miles, give or take, from central LBTS; the Fort Lauderdale station is closer to nine miles away so yes, Cypress Creek is closer.

Now, in terms of getting from Cypress Creek to your LBTS hotel then that is when Uber MIGHT come in handy.

It looks like we may be arriving at Cypress Creek on Tri Rail at either 7.15pm or 10.30pm on a Sunday in about 3 weeks time. Will it be dark then and more importantly will the journey be safe ???
Thanks Dukey1 what are alternative transports available to the LBTS hotel ???

In terms of "darkness" tonight the sun will set at 7:08 PM; every day the light will decrease by about 1 min and 30 seconds. Bottom line: when you get here in three weeks and if it is at 10:30 PM it definitely will be nighttime.

I have only been up to the Cypress Creek station a few times and I have never been there as late as 7:15 PM. In terms of "safety" I would certainly not expect to see a bunch, opr even a few, so-called suspicious characters hanging around the station.

If I were you I would make certain I have either a Uber or a local taxi company contact at the ready and would plan on using them to get to my hotel.

I would NOT assume some taxi cab is going to be there waiting for a fare.

BTW, would you be willing to tell (us) either the name or the address of your LBTS accommodation? I assume you are going to be within easy walking distance of the beach and the various places to eat.

There is, IMO, no need for a car for your period of time here and getting to Port Everglades for your cruise shouldn't be difficult at all.

Good spot. LBTS is definitely a "low rise" area without the "towering" condos on the Galt Mile directly south of you.

Easy walk to the ocean, plenty of places to eat nearby as well as a drug store.

Enjoy it.
