Treasure Island, Mgm or Luxor?

Going in August with our 2 teens, 14 and almost 17. Would you divide the week in half and stay half at one end and half at the other. Which has the better rooms, pools facilities for our type of family? Thanks, Annemarie

I stayed at the Luxor- the pools were amazing as were the rooms. There is a good teen atmosphere. The MGM is a more young family oriented type of place.

Hi Annemarie!
We stayed at Treasure Island a couple years ago and loved it. Clean rooms, lots of activity going all the time (kind of like a Disney atmosphere), and pool area is beautiful.
We walked around MGM & Luxor but have never stayed there so can't comment on them. From I saw though, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at either one of them.
My husband and I are going to Vegas again and are staying at the Exalibur. The three you mentioned were full. I'm sure you'll love it no matter where you stay!
Kay

Hi!
I just got back from Vegas and stayed at the MGM. The rooms are really nice and the pool area was amazing!
They have just remodeled and added on a winding pool/river area that has waterfalls and palm trees and looks like a tropical river. They also have two large pools with slides. THere is also an amusement park in back that wasn't open when we were there, but looks like something your kids would enjoy.
THe Luxor and TReasure Island area also nice hotels, but I couldn't tell you what the rooms are like.

I've stayed at the Luxor and probably would not stay here again...had several bad (service) experiences. Also, it is too far down the strip...

If I were taking teens to LV, my choice would be MGM. As noted there is an amusment park on the property. Also it is located across from new york new york...great rollercoaster. It is also close to Gameworks...lost of games for kids of all ages including a very big rock climbing wall. In addition, MGM can hook you up with the

Sorry...hit the wrong button. to continue...MGM can hook you up with the north end of the strip fairly quickly by taking the mono-rail that runs between MGM and Bally's. Which ever hotel you chose you will certainly enjoy....but be warned...LV can be very HOT in august.

Hi Annemarie: We also loved the MGM Grand. Great fast food court downstairs for kids who may not want to stand on line at a buffet, or may want to grab odd hours snacks. (Also good gourmet coffee for parents). Fantastic service from all hotel employees at this hotel was impressive. My kids were younger than yours--11 and 13--but I felt perfectly comfortable with them on their own at the hotel in the shopping, eating, and kids' game areas. They had a great time in Vegas and I am sure your teens will as well. Las Vegas Taxi Drivers site has some good ideas. If you do stay at the MGM, don't be too intimidated by the entrance--it is like a six line freeway. Also, I would not change hotels mid-week(you asked). There are out of town, nearby excursions that you'd all enjoy, eg Hoover Dam, some water slide park (name?) etc. Bon Voyage.
