Treasure hunters final episode

I thought it was a flop. Got so bored after 10 minutes that I turned on the vcr and read. Then fast forwarded for the highlights later in the evening.

Those poor winners, they were saying all the things they were going to do with the money. It must have been sad when they learned they were getting $3,333 a month, each, for 25 years.

Really? That's how they are getting their payment? Wow. I agree I watched about 5 minutes and that was that - didn't even make it to the money part. I did notice that the Wild Hanlons' didn't get too much applause, lol.

I turned it off too. I didn't feel sorry for the winners. Anyone who arrogantly calls themselves "The Geniuses" gets what they deserved. They should have had the name "The Nerds."
I thought it was strange that all along they never mentioned what the prize was.

This is so funny b/c I, too, turned it off. Even the suspense of learning the prize wasnt enough to keep me tuned in!

Youre right, they probably are disappointed b/c they were all “this is going to pay for medical school, our families can retire,” etc.

Add me to the list of disappointed for the finale. The "Survivor" finale/reunions are way better! I have to give it to the Geniuses though in figuring out the last word to open the cryptex. I don't think I would have got that.
I am a little confused though. The people who won the $10,000 each week (well selected ones) got to compete for $100,000. What about the online game they were hosting for a chance to win $200,000. Did they mention that at all last night? Was the final artifact in the same location for the "real" Treasure Hunters and the online game?

Hey, give these guys a break; they're young, at school, so any kind of money will come in handy. On another forum I read that they don't exactly get $1 000 000 but that they receive a monthly payment which will ad up to about $40 000/year for the next 25 years. If they opt for the big bucks at once it becomes much less. And, in the States I believe you have to pay taxes on winnings don't you? In Canada we don't.

When they won, my husband said to our son, "Hey, your mom helped them out in Paris by pointing out the Pont Alexandre where there next clue was."
In the finale Francis said that Charles couln't read a map to save his life...and I remember they did have their Paris map upside down and told me they didn't have a clue where they were. So first I repositioned their map so that it made sense.

In that respect it was kind of cool to see them become the winning team after meeting them like that. We were filmed but those of you who've read my previous postings know my "petite" segment ended up on the cutting room floor.
