Darn, I missed it. Wonder if they are reshowing the first episode some time this week?

Keith, from the link posted above, it looks like they are re-airing the season premier prior to the second episode on Monday the 26th.
|
My husband and I are great fans of Amazing Race and so we really looked forward to Treasure Hunters. We were in Paris last September and as we were crossing the Place de la Concorde 3 young guys came running by followed by several people with cameras, mikes and clipboards. As we watched one of the contestants approached me and asked for help in finding their next location...a bridge trimmed in gold and a statue of someone who'd be considered a friend to Americans. Now I know that it was Team Genius; don't know if they win at the end but at least I can say they make it as far as Paris, whatever episode that's on.
|
My understanding is that on next Monday (the 26th) they'll do another two hours, the first being a recap of the first episode, followed by a new one. But that was just from the ads.
A lot of my misgivings of the show is that it seems to be staged, rather than being really "reality." When the teams all came face to face at the capitol, it was so obviously choreographed. If I were running this race, and told to go to a statue, I sure wouldn't stop and pose halfway there just because I saw a bunch of other people <g>! So, Baker .... did you have any good info to give them to help them on their way? |
I think there is a new one on tonight, I am going to give it another shot.
|
Wednesday, me too, I'll give it another shot also.
|
LOL. Watching this for the first time with my sons. The Wild Hanlons are a hoot. :D
|
I'm enjoying this show. I like how they are mixing the physical with the mental. Not liking the Fogal Family but this is a game. Oh well!
Any idea if they leave the US? |
I will probably watch the show if I happen to be home on Monday nights, but this isn't apointment RV.

The Wild Hanlons are driving me CRAZY!!!!!!! Seriously, they should have been looking under the rock that was shaped like their brain!!
The previews for next week show the Brown family that got eliminated last night, does that mean that the team with the girl on crutches left? |
That was our conclusion, vegasnative. Too bad, I give those girls a lot of credit -- they used their brain. I feel bad for the young Wild Hanlon, he seems to have a brain that's lost on the rest of his family.
|
I am afraid the two most entertaining teams-the Hanlons and the Browns will soon be history.
Air Force is very impressive. The Fogels remind me of that other self righteous team from AR Family. Felt so bad for the team (Grad Students?) whose member was injured. What a bummer. But I loved the way the girls pulled together and made the best of it. |
The concept of integrity seems to be lost on the Fogels. I can't wait to see them get their just reward. The Hanlons don't deserve to be there anymore. It's only the Brown's physical problems and the girls' injury that let them stay last night. They will be gone soon.
|
I watched the last two episodes finally and I cannot believe the Wild Hanlons luck. They were in that mine for 11 hours and then they went to get a burger on another challenge and still didn't get eliminated. I blame it all on the "Geniuses" who gave them the number code. After they looked under every rock and crevice my husband and I groaned when they got to that mine.

You're right about this show looking too staged rather than "real". When we got filmed in Paris helping the Genius team it wasn't ever stopped so we could do another cut but cameras and mikes were everywhere. And, yes, we did help them...they asked if I knew where they were because they couldn't find this spot on the map; it was Place de la Concorde. They also had their map upside down which didn't help. Then they needed a bridge with lots of gold on it so I suggested it was the Pont Alexandre and pointed it out through the trees. As to a statue of "someone who could be called a friend to Americans" I didn't know specifically but I did tell them there were a few statues near the Pont Alexandre. it turned out to be one of Lafayette presented to France by the schoolchildren of America. we had walked along behind to see if they did indeed find the next clue; the filming there was kind of fake as they had the Geniuses approach several times pointing and saying, "There it is!". They also had them break open some object to find the clue; maybe it didn't film properly because they repeated that also. Then they filmed them running across the bridge as they went on.
My husband suggested we could have some fun by looking for other teams and saying, "We know where your next clue is!" but I reminded him that on AR the teams are often wide apart time-wise. Anyway, whether or not we actually make it onto the screen it was a great story to come home with. |
I haven't been watching this show quite as closely as I do the AR. However, the short time I watched during this week's show looked so dramatic, that it seemed suspiciously staged. How much longer does it run?
|
Hey baker, looks like your encounter with the Treasure Hunters will be shown next week!
|
baker, did you watch tonight's episode and were you on it? I would love to hear more about your experience with the show.
