Travels with sweeping broom!

Could it be , Sox in 4.

I live for this.

ellen_griswold Oct 27th, 2004 04:41 AM

Hey Doc! At first i thought this would be a "beWitching" post for halloween! ;)

But yeah, lets sweep 'em! GO SOX!!!!!!

Dreamer2 Oct 27th, 2004 04:43 AM

Ellen, I had the same thought.
Don't jinx it, Doc!
Remember '86.
That did it for me...

doc_ Oct 27th, 2004 04:46 AM

All that curse, jinx, and super natural crap ended with the comeback against the evil empire.

They will win tonight and never be behind in score for the entire series.

bennnie Oct 27th, 2004 07:04 AM

Work is totally killing my Red Sox Buzz!

But lets get this straight - No curse, no jinx, no lunar eclipse is going to get in the way of a Red Sox sweep.

The team that will prevail is the team that has the bigger heart, the strongest desire to win, the confidence in themselves that it can be done. In other words, the team that BELIEVES. If Manny can throw a runner out at home from left field, then anything can happen. SOX take it in 4!

ellen_griswold Oct 27th, 2004 07:17 AM

Hi bennie!! You are soo right, HEART is key here and the sox heart is HUGE! Can't wait to see their VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO BoSOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Statia Oct 27th, 2004 07:20 AM

GO SOX!!!!

As embarrassing as it was to be a Cardinals fan last night... I can't let this thread go by without a few words from the competition. Game 1 was exciting, even though my team lost. I was just hoping for that same kind of excitement for at least 6 or 7 games.

Someone has kidnapped my Cardinals and replaced them with minor leaguers. This has not been a true representation of the same team that won 105 games this year.

I've got a ticket for Game 5, which I camped out overnight on the sidewalks of St. Louis to get. Please, God, let me be able to use that ticket!

I visited Fenway Park last summer when the Cardinals played there... it was a great time and I became very fond of Red Sox fans that week. I will still have that admiration regardless of the outcome of this World Series.

k_999_9 Oct 27th, 2004 08:32 AM

OK, idnas, as a Sox fan, I'll let you have one win so that you can use your ticket.

But that's it! Then, the party's over for you.

bennnie Oct 27th, 2004 08:39 AM

idnas - We Red Sox fans are all watching in disbelief ourselves. We know the Cards are a great team.

dan_woodlief Oct 27th, 2004 08:58 AM

I keep expecting the Sox to lose a game. Every time, I think the Sox must win this one, they must win this one, and they do. Quite a roll. The Cards are cold right now, but this is the Red Sox at their best. They get out early and put pressure on teams. They didn't do that in the first few games against the Yankees. There is a part of me that would prefer to see the Sox clinch at home, but I don't want the Cards to build any kind of momentum. I don't think I could live through it. For Idnas71, I can't pull for the Cards to win one tonight, but you have my sympathy if you don't get to use the ticket. I would hate that if it were me. You would think you would be safe with Game 5 wouldn't you? I bought a Game 7 hockey ticket once and didn't get to use it. The next round, I went with Game 3.

Idnas71 Oct 27th, 2004 09:05 AM

Well, if I don't get to use my ticket for W.S. Game 5, I will just have to relish in the fact that I DID get to see the NLCS games 6 & 7. Now those were some good times!

I think most people do expect the World Series to go at least 6 games. But you just can't count on anything in baseball.

May the best team win, and enjoy the glory that is to be a World Series Champion.

Dreamer2 Oct 27th, 2004 04:50 PM

So, you all know the flight the Red Sox took down to NY for the ALC series was #1918. Sound familiar?

And that Babe Ruth's former house near Boston was torn down just two weeks ago so a developer could put up condos?

Hmmm.... Could this be the year?!?!

cigalechanta Oct 27th, 2004 05:03 PM

Shoot? I thought you were going to ask me about how I travel!
Check out the funny cartoon on the last page of this week's New Yorker.
A very funny red sox cartoon for Halloween.

Anonymous Oct 27th, 2004 05:06 PM

Ruth never lived in the house that was recently demolished in Watertown; his estranged wife rented rooms from the dentist who owned the house, and she died in a fire in 1929, long after the Babe had left town.

travelinandgolfin Oct 27th, 2004 05:22 PM

Hey, I was going to say, "I travel with my own pillow, so don't feel so strange." :D

I'm pulling for them Soxs...

Scarlett Oct 27th, 2004 05:26 PM

What fun that all those people will have great seats to see the Eclipse of the Moon :D

cigalechanta Oct 27th, 2004 05:43 PM

I can see the eclipse right here outside my window. It's about 1/3 covered at this moment!!!!!!

Dreamer2 Oct 28th, 2004 03:28 AM

UNBELIEVABLE!

What a parade it will be!

Congratulations, Boston fans, we finally saw it happen. And can't you just see all the "high-fives" in heaven by those we have loved who waited all their lives for this!?!

The self-proclaimed idiots finally made it reality. It is such a relief.

:)

One of the best teams of all time. Came back from a 0-3 hole, swept the team with the best record, and never trailed once in the series.
