Travelling to Waynesville NC without a car

Hi everyone, I am travelling from Denmark.

I would like to go to Lake Junaluska NC to the conferencecenter, the town most close is Waynesville. I am coming from Nashville. I dont have a car.

If I google Waynesville and Greyhound, I find it mentioned, that Greyhound has a stop a 1856 Dellwood Rd, Waynesville. But on Greyhound.com the mashine does not regonnize
Waynesville. I can find any bus schedules either.

I tried to email Greyhound, but did not get a answer.

Does anybody know anything? Has anybody any idea?

Thank you very much

Ellen from Denmark

If you put in Nashville to Asheville, NC at the Greyhound site it lists a stop as XXXNo Service Waynes, NC, which I'd assume must be Waynesville. You have to change buses in Knoxville, TN. 6 hours total. You'd then need a cab to get to Junalaska, which is not far. I suppose Waynesville is just a stop and doesn't actually have a depot, so it doesn't show up as a destination on the site.

Thank you- it is amazing to get a answer so fast!!!

I tried your suggestion and it came right away.

Sadly, the connection on the way to Waynesville is pretty bad concerning the schedule of the conference. One bus arrive in the evening and the other one in the morning. I dont really have the stomach for travelling on the bus in the night.

The way back home is pretty perfekt.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks again

Ellen

Outside major cities US ground transit is really car-based. I would think renting one from the nearest city you can fly into is the only practical choice

I can't really see any other options other than car rental or stopping in Knoxville for the night and catching the 6AM bus the next morning. Aren't you planning on spending a night there? I can't see the logistics of leaving Nashville and attending whatever conference this is on the same day. It's only a 5 minute taxi ride to the conference center (or another motel) from the bus stop. It's not exactly a dangerous area or anything like that. You could call a taxi from the bus just before arriving.
