Traveling with our Dog

We are going to be in Denver for a month and will have our furry friend with us. We would like to do some day trips( or short overnight trips)Do alot of places allow for pets? What scenery would you suggest that would accomodate our dog? Thanks alot!

Most places usually require a pet deposit. It's best to call and ask about their policies.

are great resources for people travelling with pups.

There are certain hotel chains that always allow dogs... some charge fees, but others don't. I'm not sure what kind of accommodations you are looking for, but I know Loew's allows dogs as do the W hotels. La Quinta allows dogs with no fee and there are a few others like that.

There are also some number of "bark parks" in Denver (and even organized walks that include dogs). We have one in Evergreen (fenced for dogs - free run allowed). Not sure where they are in Denver - maybe a Denver dog lover can help... (or your hotel may know once you decide). Colorado tends to be a dog friendly place.

If you want to go to the mountains the Inn at Keystone allows dogs. This is from the local paper..

Four-legged friends are invited to spend some time at the Keystone Inn Fridays. The event, which will continue through July 28, allows dogs on the patio from 5-7 p.m. and offers free dog biscuits as well as fun drink specials. The French Poodle combines Grey Goose, Chambord and a splash of pineapple juice; the Old Yeller has Bacardi O, orange juice, peach Schnapps and an orange slice.

Also at Keystone Fritz Alpine Bistro loves puppies. Ours have had a snack or two there this summer.

Lots of palces in Colorado are dog friendly and allow dogs on the patios. In Denver for Casual dining Wahoo, many locations. In Lodo if you like beer try Falling Rock Tap House, 1919 Blake St. Always a pup or two hanging out.

Does the French Poodle require the dogs to be 21 in actual or dog years before they can be served those tasty sounding drinks? ;;)
