Traveling to Cape Cod in July
We are planning a week in cape cod and have reservations at Brewster Green Resort. Does anybody know of this resort? Which beaches would you recommend in the Brewster area?

I had not heard of Brewster Green until your post, I found their website and it looks fabulous.
I do know Brewster is a great town to be based for your Cape Cod vacation. It is centrally located which makes it easy to explore other parts of the Cape and has many museums, parks, trails, restaurants and attractions. Brewster beaches however tend to be small, with limited parking and hard to find. I drive a few miles down 6A to Orleans for Skaket Beach on the Bay and Nauset Beach on the Atlantic. |
I think one of the nicest beaches is Nauset Beach in Orleans(next town to Brewster). Its part of the National Seashore. There are usually good waves, but the water can be cool. There is also a good snack bar there with some of the best onion rings.
If you have little ones, Scaket beach in Orleans is great-the water is much warmer and calmer, and there are lots of tide pools for them to play in. |
I too had never heard of Brewster Green. It looks great on the net. Please report back after your stay so we can know the details and have fun.

We own a home in Brewster and never knew Brewster Green. Although having seen the pics on the web, now, I remember driving around it once and wondering what the heck it was (condos? resort?). They do NO advertising in the Boston/Cape Cod area. Must be a timeshare.
Their location is convenient although you'll need to drive to the beach. I, too, like Skaket and Nauset Beach (although calling Nauset's water possibly 'cool' is being kind--it's COLD). In the summer, Skaket's parking lot will fill up by about 11 a.m. so plan accordingly. In Brewster, we do have smaller lots at our beaches but you could try Crosby Landing or Linnell Landing (near your resort). Be sure to have dinner at Sparkfish, spend some time puttering around our Brewster Store, visit Setauket Farms for fresh produce and a warm welcome, and go mini-golfing at Harbor Lights. Have a great vacation! |
