Traveling for Architecture!
Hey everyone!
So I love to check out local architecture whenever I travel to somewhere new, so I generally research the architects of each building that I plan to visit ahead of time. Does anyone else do this? It might be an interesting idea to supplement some articles on this site, and I'm having a hard time making a comment on any of the posts with some additional architect information. Maybe this is something the moderators could consider? I did a little research on one of the articles I was reading and am providing some links to additional information about where I got my information just to get the ball rolling. My main question - is this the right place to publish this information on Fodor's, or is there some need for a regular contribution to the site/forum on architecture-specific topics? I'd love to hear your thoughts, or get your help filling in a couple blanks in my research! I think any post about architecture in "small cities" in the US should include Columbus, Indiana.

Actually, this was just further research on an article that Fodors already did, so they made the list. I do agree that you could write a lot about architecture in Columbus though. The Bartholomew County Courthouse and Columbus Regional Hospital (Isaac Hodgson and Robert A. M. Stern, respectively) are amazing properties.
Would you add any others if you were to put together an article on Columbus, Indiana for architecture nerds NeoPatrick? |
Check out the architecture in Buffalo NY. You will be surprised.

You should come to Charlotte, NC for the Bechtler Museum of Art--not only for the art but the building designed to exhibit it. It is an ecologically designed building as well as stunning architecture. The collection is world class.
