HI Lost,
I hate to say this, but a cab is the EASIEST way to get into manhattan from LaGuardia..I was in new york a few weeks back, and most new yorkers told me to take a cab...there is no direct way ..train/bus..from LaGuardia..I believe you would have to get on a bus..then have to switch to a train at union Station..and people told me that could be over an hour..my cost from the airport to midtown was onlyl $ 20..Going into Chinatown should be cheaper! |
LT, 'Hipster' is absolutely right. Take a taxi, save yourself some grief and have a comfortable, yet affordable trip.
We stayed in midtown and took the taxi to and from LGA. It was easy and relatively cheap. |
Hi Lost,
To get to Canal Street by public transportation you can take the M60 bus at LaGuardia airport and then change for the subway. The bus is exact change, $2.00, no dollar bills or pennies. The bus will pass by many subway lines that go to Canal Street (N, 6, A, C, 1 etc.). Go to www.mta.info and look at the subway and bus map. That way, depending on where on Canal Street you are going you can change for the most convenient subway line. By the way, hipster70 (above) mentions changing at Union Station. There is no Union Station in New York so don't look for it. The trip should take you about 1 hour. |
The poster probably meant getting on the Lex at Grand Central.

No, I have a feeling the above poster meant UNION SQUARE 14th st.
