As an ex-pat in Britain for over 30 years, I can assure you that British towns and cities are much more alike (if you only look at the stores in the shopping centers!) than American.

They have a McDonald's on the Champs Elysee in Paris! I went in there so I could buy a coke WITH ICE IN IT (and to
use the bathroom).
