Travel guard claim???

Hello,

Got stuck in Colorado during snowstorm, supposed to be in Maui, we were 2 nights late leaving, what are the chances of that storm when we leave, ha!
Anyway after getting back travelguard wants the most outrageous stuff, copy of credit card statement, driverlisc, the list goes on. Has anyone filed a claim and actually been reinbursed? Wondering if it is worth my time. Next time will go direct through airlines ins.
Thanks
liz

Yes, I filed a claim thru Travelguard and got reimbursed. My boyfriend got an infection in his leg so we couldn't take our hiking trip (an organized, prepaid, small-group tour)in Provence. Yes, they did ask for lots of paperwork (credit card statement, doctor's notes, and lots of other stuff), and we provided it to them along with photos of his oozing wound (yuck, I know...but we had several thousand dollars at stake and wanted to make sure they believed us!). We received a check from them quicker than we expected. YES, it was worth it.

I filed a claim as well. Got delayed due to snow going down to Belize in February AND then got stuck for 2 1/2 days in Dallas coming back due to the President's Day blizzard on the East Coast. Had to produce all sorts of documentation, but got paid within a few weeks.

They need that stuff to (a) verify what you paid for the trip and when (a lot of coverages are based on both), (b) verify your age (premiums are tied to age), (c) verify the reason for your claim, and (d) verify the amount of your claim. All things considered, it was a lot easier to get the papers together than it was to shovel out my driveway when I FINALLY got home...

It's worth it.

I filled out all the forms, sent in copies of everything, talked to a couple of people but they honored our claim with no hard time.

My brother died the day we were supposed to go on a cruise. We had insurance but others in our party did not. RCCL refunded everyone's money but I also got my flights and hotel bills paid.

MM
