Travel Agency Question for a trip to Hawaii

We are trying to find a good package for strictly interisland flights and car rental (no mainland flight, no hotel). I suppose we could probably get a better deal by booking those through a travel agent? There are so many agencies, has anyone had a very good experience with any one in particular? Any feedback about "Affordable Hawaii Travel" and the "Hawaii Travel Bureau"?

The problem with Hawaii is not finding options - it is choosing between tons of options! Thanks in advance for your help!

The money is in the hotel bookings so most agents will not want to book just air & car or will charge you extra tp do so. You can call the airlines direct or go online, as Hawaiian and Aloha often have a car special with their flights. Otherwise, Robert's Overnighters?

See what pandaonline.com has to offer. It's a Hawaii-based travel booking web site, and when we lived on Oahu we used it to book our inter-island flights and car rental when we went to neighbor islands (we booked the hotel directly).

I've used Panda for some day trips to other islands. That was just for air and car.

Since airlines quit paying commissions on air tickets, most agencies now charge to book travel. Ask before you use one. Its so easy to book both cars and travel on the web it think I would just go there first. You might save a little money on cars on Hotwire, or one of those, but remember, once you book the reservation you've paid for the car, regardless. The little money saved has never been worth not being able to chage the reservation if need be.

We have found that travel agents have contacts like Sun Trips, for example, which sell packages to include air over and back and inter-island flights and condo and car rental. We have had some very good deals this way and have been able to make a choice of condos. In this case the travel agent, I think, was merely selling the package for Sun Trips, or whomever, and got her commission from them, so did not charge us a fee for the flights.

I would go to a recommended travel agent and check that out, however.
