Trattoria Belvedere NYC

Would this be a good choice for before show dinner? It would be most convenient for our group to meet in this area, on the east side 30's -40's. If anyone has other suggestions, let me know! Italian or French bistro type, $30/person.

Does that $30 figure include tax, tip and drinks?

We had a great dinner at DaCiro, 229 Lexington Ave. (btwn 33rd and 34th) in August. The cheese ravioli was the best I ever had, including in Italy. It's in your price range.

Price is before drinks, could go a little higher to include tax and tip if necessary. I am treating several of my daughter's college-age friends; they are short on cash and happy for any treat!

Da Ciro is another place that looked interesting based on menupages.com. Also helpful to know if any of these places would be large portions to share(as in Tony's DiNapoli or Carmines). I actually tried to get a reservation for Tony's but couldn't, and don't want to risk time waiting for a table.

Curious why EAST side if before show? Becco on rest. row has their famous $21.95 all you can eat pasta dinner. Bryant Park Grill has a $25 pre theater. Don't know Trat. Belvedere.

I had the same question as mclaurie. Wouldn't it make more sense to eat the threater district area rather than the East Side? Then, you can just linger until 15-20 minutes before curtain time.
I also agree with mclaurie's two recommendations.

Just a logistical decision which may change! My son and I are staying on the E. side Lex. @37th. My daughter and two friends are going to be on Upper East side and won't be able to meet up with us until around 6:30. If we eat in the theater district, wouldn't it take them a few minutes longer in transit(subway)? I feel like we are going to be in a bit of a time crunch, but I guess it is a wash? You are probablly right, as always!

Now we have reservations at 6:30 for Cara Mia.

That's fine. You're far better off already being on the west side than having to go crosstown just before curtain time. That can be a mad dash.
