Transportation suggestions for New York Yankee evening game

I am a New Yorker, I live here and would say to avoid the subway after, say, 1:00am. The streets will be fairly empty (for NYC) so it's pretty easy to get around in a cab at that hour.

Take the subway. There will be a ton of people, so safety is not an issue. I have take the subway alone without problems. I usually use about 12am as my cutoff time when I am alone.

TAKE THE SUBWAY - Its all part of the Yankee experience! You know - the Bronx is up and the Battery is down!

Just so you understand - it's so crowded that the MTA runs extra trains (in both directions) whenever the Yankees or the Mets are playing since so many people take them to the games.

You will be perfetly safe - and traveling with hundreds of other people from the game.
