Transportation from LAX to Disneyland

Hi folks,

Any better alternatives for transfer from LAX to Disneyland other than a taxi? Also, I am looking for a budget hotel (July 14-20) near the attractions. Desired free amenities include continental breakfast, shuttle to local attractions, and in-room safe.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Best alternative to Anaheim area would be SuperShuttle. No question. Then again, why not rent a car? That way you're not completely stuck in Anaheim.

There are a couple of Embassy Suites not too far from Disneyland, but I don't know if they have shuttles to the park. I can't imagine they don't. I'm not much help on lodging, as I live only 20 minutes from the park. Anyone else...?

Bueller? Bueller...?

Transportation wise even the shuttles going from LAX to Disney are going to be expensive. It is actually cheaper to rent a small car and drive. Especially when you add the cost of more than one person on the shuttle.

There are a ton of hotels around Disney. I would do a search on Expedia or a similar site for different properties. Personally, I don't count Embassy Suites as a budget property.

Rent a car, you will save money in the end. Just get a compact or other small model. As for hotels, Embassy Suites is not a budget hotel by any means, in fact many of them are very expensive. There are a number of less expensive hotels nearby (but remember, Disneyland is a big attraction, thus there are no really cheap places to stay). There is a Comfort Inn, Super8 Motel, Holiday Inn Express, Travelodge and many others, as well as several Best Western motels and several "non-chain places". Just do a search on "hotels Disneyland" and see what you find. Many of the lower priced motels will include cont. breakfast, but it is not much (unlike Embassy Suites that provides a full buffet style breakfast, but again, they charge a lot more then the lower priced motels).

Dadofmike,

I have had great success using Super Shuttle out of LAX. It's much less than a cab and the only drawback is that you may have to wait for it to drop off a person or two before it reaches your destination. If you go to: http://www.supershuttle.com/htm/cities/lax.htm#Sample you can get specific information on the LAX Super Shuttle and also make reservations if you wish.

As for hotels near Disneyland, while I don't have personal experience, here is another web site that offers many choices: http://www.aguidetoanaheim.com/index.php?p_id=80

Once you get to this site, It will give you a choice between Premuim, Moderate and Budget hotel/motel properties. All are (supposed to be) close to the park.

Hope this helps,

Strive

When my mom and I went to Disney a few years ago we stayed at the Best Western. It was right out side the gate, and we simply walked. It wasn't the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at, but all we needed was a bed and a shower. We took an airport shuttle from LAX to the hotel. We also used the same shuttle company (the name escapes me) to go from our hotel in Anaheim to our hotel in down town LA. When we left for the airport we took a cab. We fit 5 people and luggage in one taxi to the airport for $40.
