Transport from LGA to JFK on X'mas day

I am landing in LGA airport around 2:15pm on X'mas day, but my family is landing in JFK half hour later, got to meet them in JFK, what is the best way to get there from LGA, since it's on X'mas day. How's the traffic, how much and how long if taking a cab?

Taxi is easiest. If you're worried about taxi availability, you could order a car service like dial7.com which shouldn't charge much more than a taxi. You can get an estimate of the price from http://www.nyccabfare.com/ Traffic shouldn't be too bad and the 2 airports are relatively close. I'd guess $30 and 30 mins. or less.

I assume you know NYC is in the opposite direction?

Are you all then departing from JFK? If not - it really doesn;t make sense to go there - since it's the opposite diection from the city. If you're staying in the city you should probably all meet there - since the chances of 2 flights landing on time - given weather difficultes - isn't great.

I certainly agree to go into the City directly from each airport. Does not make sense to meet at the airport rather than your hotel unless you are all taking another flight from JFK.

As the others, unless you're all flying to another destination from JFK, it'll be easier to meet at hotel (or wherever) your final destination in NYC.

If not, then a taxi from the Taxi Line outside the terminal... follow signs; maybe a 15/min drive. Even on Xmas day, there are taxis... not everyone celebrates the holiday.

Thank you guys, the suggestion is really good, I am going to meet my family in town rather than going to the JFK. Merry X'mas!
