Train Station to Disney World
What is the best/inexpensive way to get from the train station in Orlando ( 14000 Sligh Blvd) to the Disney World Compound without renting a car?

I'd suggest using Mears Transportation System. They're a very reputable company in town and will not rip you off. You can either call them in advance to make your reservations, or call them when you get to the train station.

Check out Deb Wills site -- www.wdwig.com -- She mentions a Lincoln Town Car -- and depending on how many people are traveling with you, it may be cheaper that route. Mears charges per person so you need to keep that in mind -- the towncar would just charge one fee for the entire group and most fit quite a few.

The Town Car mentioned is Tiffany Town Car. My husband and I used them last year and will never use Mears again. For $70 roundtrip, Tiffany will transport up to 5 people directly to your resort. They will also make a 1/2 hour grocery stop if you wish. It's a bit more expensive for more than five, but a better bargain than Mears. It was quick and efficient. Your trip by Mears may take forever since they have to drop off other passengers at their resorts. Tiffany Town Car is at www.tiffanytowncar.com; you can book directly on line.

Alexandria, We did this many times when our children were young. We always took the train and then stayed at the Polynesian Hotel on the grounds. It was wonderful. You do not get off at Orlando, it's too far. You get off at Kissimee which is the next stop after Orlando and is much closer to the park. <BR>When we got off, we just called for a cab, it took all of 5 minutes for them to arrive and did not cost more than $10 for 5 of us. We did the same thing going home.....called for a cab waited 5 minutes and they were there. Kissimee is definitely the place to get off the train. Have fun.
