Trailer Park Lounge & Grill - NYC
We are thinking about eating at the Trailer Park Lounge & Grill (271 W. 23rd St. b/t 7th & 8th Ave.) when we are in NYC next month. I'm assuming that this is not a place that takes reservations. Does anyone know for sure? Does anyone know if there is typically a long wait for a table there on a Saturday evening? We would like to eat dinner there before going to the 8:00 show at Gotham Comedy Club. We have to be at the comedy club b/t 7:15 and 7:30. There will be 5 of us. Would we have enough time to eat & get to the comedy club on time if we got there at 6:00 or should we go earlier?

Know nothing about the place but can;t imagne there is any place full for dinner at 6pm - esp on a Saturday (New Yorkers generally eat dinner at 8 or later) - even though this place is super casuale. And I didn;t know comedy clubs even had shows that early - I've never been before 11.
I would call them and ask. |
just a suggestion - but there is a very good BBQ place right near the comedy club - better food than Trailer Park . . . RUB - Righteous Urban Barbeque - 208 W. 23rd. check out www.menupages.com
But I agree with nytraveler - at 6pm you won't have a problem getting seated at what is essentially a bar with food. |
Thanks for your suggestions. I will check out the BBQ place in case we are not in the mood for burgers and fries that day.
About the comedy clubs - from what I have seen online, a lot of the clubs have 8:00 or 8:30 shows -- at least on Saturday. I don't know about other nights of the week. Anyway, there is definitely an 8:00 show at Gotham that night because I just called and made reservations today. Thanks for looking out for us though! |
Just trying to prepare you - since it's so early it might be fairly empty - and not so much fun.

Why Trailer Park? It certainly doesn't take reservations, and the food is mediocre at best. The "allure," if there is one, is the campy decor.
And, yes, at that early hour, you won't wait. |
Trailer Park is a great place for college kids to get drunk, and possibly get a bite to eat too. Wouldn't recommend it. If you like kitchsy and very casual, you could try Chat-n-Chew in Union Square - same idea, better food, less drunk kids. Otherwise, tell us why you came up with Trailer Park - is it budget you are worried about, or did you want that type of food, etc. and we can make more suggestions.
