We have visited Stowe a coupe of times from the uK (Stayed at Golden Eagle and Stowe Motel) Have driven past the Town & County resort and felt that it looked fine and had a good location if you are looking at mid-priced accommodation. We would consider staying there if we returned.
It may be worth considerring the Golden Eagle resort (If you are booking independently and not out of a brochure) as they often offer packages eg 2/3 night deals and have nice amenities. However if memory serves right the Town & Country is close to Stowe Village centre if that is a consideration.
Go to www.gostowe.com for more info (They will post you an info pack if you email them)

Just returned from Stowe. We stayed at the Grey Fox Inn, which was quite close to Town and Country. It looked very nice from the outside and has an excellent location. The Grey Fox was a bit smaller and more moderate, but the rooms (mountain view, paid extra) were good sized, very clean, and we were treated well. Breakfast was also included at the Dutch Pancake House which was also very good.
